This logo was designed for Richard Thompson, a legendary English singer, songwriter and guitarist. He began is career as part of "Fairport Convention". After he went solo he has played and recorded with the who's who in the rock world on both sides of the Atlantic and around the world. Routinely rated one of the best song writers and guitarist In the world.

Initially, I thought this concept was just an extra idea because it came so quickly. But I quickly realized it could be Mr. Thompson's trademark.

 

The base of the design is a standing roaring lion most commonly seen on English and European family crests. He is adorned with a beret which is standard Richard Thompson fashion and a flashy Fender guitar. The image has since been adapted for acoustic albums with an acoustic guitar.

The logo began as a tee shirt design but has quickly become a trademark for Richard Thompson. It can be seen everywhere including his website, merchandising and touring equipment.
